about us
In search of new opportunities
My wife, Sarah, and I left Ohio in 2015 in search of new opportunities for both of us in Boston. As a scientist there were only so many options for Sarah and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in Violin making and restoration. It was a very difficult transition, but in the first couple years we both began to excel and advance in our careers. I graduated from the North Bennet Street School in 2018 having fulfilled the program requirements and began setting up my own shop and working at a small bakery called Sofra. The pastry chef there, Maura Kilpatrick, has been nominated for the James beard award numerous times and her pastry team at Sofra makes extraordinary baked goods. I was honored and proud to be a part of that team. During that time I won a sound award at the Kaminski Competition in Poland for "Best Sound", which came with a cash prize. I was then offered an internship opportunity at the world renowned Reuning and Sons Violins where I learned about restoration and repair from some of the most talented restorers in the field. I currently work for Johnson Strings Instruments and Sarah and I are expecting a baby boy in December of 2022.

Why I make and Restore
From the moment I made my first instrument I knew I wanted to provide more instruments to musicians at an affordable price. I take pride in being able to offer up and coming musicians an instrument that they are able to grow with. Nothing is a bigger compliment than when an artist gets lost in the music, because the instrument is inspiring them. Being able to bring an instrument "back to life" is also very rewarding, whether it be an old family heirloom or something valuable that needs extensive work. I aim to give instruments as long a life as possible while preserving its original components.
